The Lewis University academic year for traditional undergraduate programs begins on the first day of school in August and ends on the last day of school or. As part of our ongoing COVID-19 mitigation efforts, Lewis will require students, faculty and staff to be vaccinated to be on campus. Courses numbered 10,000 to 29,999 are lower division courses and are usually taken by first and second year students.
Courses numbered 30,000 to 49,999 are upper division courses and are usually taken by third and final year students, usually after having taken lower division courses in the department. Courses with a number of 50,000 or more are postgraduate courses and are open to undergraduate students only under special conditions. The University will normally excuse an absence when required by (the student's mandatory participation in University activities and events; (religious beliefs, observances, and practices of the student); (mandatory military and civic obligations, such as responding to a citation; adaptation to the disability of a student; (significant illness or injury of the student or family member; or (a death in the student's immediate family.
